Like every Fallen Empire (RIP) release, Blattaria’s debut is excellent. High scores go to the intensity, atmosphere, and sheer density of these songs, though perhaps we should call them terrifying psychedelic black metal soundscapes, which does the music more justice. Some points must be deducted, however, due to the impossible-to-ignore level of similarity between this album and the works of a certain half-American / half-Icelandic black metal band. In any event, this is tremendous!
